Grabbed his fourth Green Jacket in 2005 by defeating Chris DiMarco with a birdie on the first hole of a sudden-death playoff (No. 18). Equaled the Masters record with seven consecutive birdies during the third round. Captured the 2001 Masters by two strokes, giving him a victory in four consecutive majors. In 1997, became the youngest player to win the Masters at age 21. Set the Tournament scoring record with a 270, 18 under par total. Previous record of 17 under was held by Jack Nicklaus (1965) and Raymond Floyd (1976). Also set record for largest winning margin capturing the title by 12 strokes. In all, set 20 Tournament records and tied six others. Won the 2002 Masters by three strokes to become only the third player in Tournament history (Jack Nicklaus, Nick Faldo) to successfully defend his title. A total of 14 majors to his credit (four Masters, three US Opens, three British Opens and four PGA Championships). Also 66 PGA TOUR titles. Won four of six starts in 2008, including a win at the US Open on a knee that needed season-ending surgery after the event. At age 18, became the youngest winner of the US Amateur Championship (since bested). In 1995 became the ninth player to win consecutive Amateur championships and in 1996 made history by winning it an unprecedented third time. 1997, 1999, 2002, 2004 and 2006 Ryder Cup Teams. Has played in 14 Masters.
