(6-B) Florida State University sophomore was runner-up at the 2008 U.S. Amateur at Pinehurst, falling to Danny Lee 5 and 4 in the final. Became the second golfer in Florida State history to reach the finals of the U.S. Amateur. Helped Florida State win its first-ever ACC golf championship and earn a No. 3 seed in the NCAA West Regional Championship. Was one of only two Seminole players to compete in all 11 events during his freshman season.
