(6-A) Qualified by defeating Drew Kittleson 5 and 4 in the final of the 2008 US Amateur. At 18 years, 1 month, broke the record set by Tiger Woods as youngest champion of the event. Won medalist and match play titles at the 2008 Western Amateur and tied for 20th in his PGA TOUR debut at the Wyndham Championship the day before match play qualifying at the US Amateur. Won the 2009 Johnnie Walker Classic, an event sanctioned by the European, Asian and Australasian tours, as an amateur.
