(18) Three-time winner on the Japan Golf Tour in 2008. Also finished T15 at the PGA Championship, the first time he had made the cut in four major appearances. Also earned an invitation to the 2008 Masters but was forced to withdraw during the second round due to injury. Has six Asian Tour victories to his credit. In 1999 became the first player from his country to qualify for the British Open. Voted Asian Golfer of the Year in 1997. Second Masters appearance.
