(1) Became the fourth international player to capture the Masters when he escaped a fairway bunker on No. 18 with a 7-iron and birdied the final hole in 1988 to win by a stroke over Mark Calcavecchia. Won the 1985 British Open. Owns 29 titles worldwide, including 18 on the PGA European Tour and six on the PGA TOUR. Member of five Ryder Cup Teams, 1979 through 1987. Played in the 1979, 1980 and 1987 World Cup. Has played in 27 Masters.
